Your trip

How to get here

Coming from

US

If travelling from the US you can fly directly into Madrid Adolfo Suarez Airport where we will have an Encinarejo Outfitters Team member waiting to clear your firearms for you. You will then be brought directly to the finca to start your hunting adventure. Please not that there is a transfer fee involved due to the fact that Madrid falls outside of our 250 km radius for free transfer.

There is also the option to rent a car in Madrid. If you plan to do any tourism in Spain after your hunt then this is a very good option. If you chose to rent a car then a representative will still meet you at the arrivals terminal to clear your rifles and then help you with collect your rental car.

Coming from

EU

If you are travelling to us as an EU Citizen or resident the easiest route would be to fly to Málaga International Airport. From there one of our team will meet you to clear your firearms and bring you directly to the finca.

If Málaga is not an option then Madrid Adolfo Suarez Airport is the next best option. We will have a representative waiting for you at the arrivals terminal to clear your firearms and then bring you directly to the finca. Please note that there is a transfer fee involved as Madrid is outside out of 250 km radius for free transport.

Please see our Licenses and Documents section for additional information on what is required to hunt in Spain.

The trip

Licenses and paperwork

You will need the following documents in order to travel to and hunt in Spain

If you plan on bringing your firearm with you or renting one of our firearms you need to complete the following process.

    a. Contact the Spanish Consulate nearest your state or province and inform them of your upcoming hunting trip in Spain. You will receive and application to fill out that will require the following information:

You can only apply for the permit 60 days prior to departure so please wait until then to apply for the permit.

    b. Once you receive your permit please send us a copy that we can begin with the procedures on our side. Please bring the original copy of the permit with you to Spain

    c. Upon arrival in Spain the Guardia Civil will move your rifle cases straight from the plane to their office. Please collect your bags and proceed through customs as normal and once you pass through into the arrivals hall you will be met by one of our team members.

    d. You will then be taken by us to the Guardia Civil office where your temporary permit will be issued and your rifle inspected. The temporary permit must be kept with your rifle until you depart Spain.

    e. We will discuss and arrange your departure process with you once you are with us in Spain.

Please note that this process applies to you bringing your own rifle as well as renting one of our rifles. We will present you with the weapons details if you are renting one of our rifles.

Please note that none of this is applicable to bow hunters as your bow will simply be processed as a luggage item. Please however check with your airline before booking.

The trip

Extra Activities

We work with various other people in the tourism industry to provide you with the trip of a lifetime. We can happily arrange select extra activities for you during or after your hunt.

The trip

Taxidermy

We will field prepare your trophy as to your requirements and prepare them to be collected by our local taxidermist. Our local taxidermist will either prepare your trophies for dip and pack if you would like them to be done by your own taxidermist, or he will do the work himself and ship the finished work directly to you.

Once collected by the taxidermist they will assume responsibility for your trophies, and you will work directly with the taxidermist. Below you can find a Taxidermy form that will help expedite the process. The total process takes between 6-9 months before you will receive your taxidermy depending on what time of the year you hunt.
